DIY ROOT CELLAR – STORM SHELTER

Mike from Michigan shows how he repurposed a old Agricultural Liquids tank to a Storm Shelter and cold foods storage.
The storage & shelter needed to be sealed from snakes, spiders, mice and squirrels and be above ground so it would not fill with water. He also wanted it to work well for Winter cold food storage such as bushels of apples or bags of onions and carrots.? This document shows how he repurposed, and reinforced an old agricultural liquids tank that would have otherwise been scrapped.
By adding the necessary bracing it was then able to be buried by 16?-20? of dirt to add thermal and storm protection.? The PDF document does not give dimensions but rather discusses the structural pattern used for adding support.
