How To Make A Solar or Wind Diversion Load Controller
This is a Guide showing you how to make a dump load controller to divert extra power to an alternate source such as a water heater or other. Mike from Michigan shows him “How I Built Mine” style guide and schematic on How To Make A Diversion Load Controller.

Make use of your extra energy with this Solar, Wind or Alternative energy extra load controller.
When using Solar or Wind to charge batteries in an alternative energy system you sometimes end up with ?Too Much? and if you keep charging it will cause an overcharge and burn up the batteries. SOLUTION, a Dump Load Controller or Diversion Load Controller for sending the extra power to a Water Heater, Diversion Heater Element or another source.
This is a short document and schematic Created by Mike from Michigan ?how I built mine? who lives off the grid. The Load Diversion Guide shows a very simple electronic circuit that turns on a relay at high volts and turns it off low volts. This circuit will turn on at 12-17 volts (adjustable) and shut off at 11-16 volts (also adjustable). It has an onboard digital voltmeter to monitor ?house? battery voltage. This diversion load controller can be used? to drive a relay or whatever size you need up to a 10 amp coil draw (from the original relay)
No maximum amperage, use this one circuit to drive your complete system from 1 amp to 100 mega amp.
If you need something larger then you simply use the first relay to drive a larger unit. You could, in fact, use this to control the power for a whole city if needed.
